This year was my 8th Ramadhan observed in Borneo...(not so long yet,i think:), 3rd time is Sabah but 1st in Sandakan. Nevertheless, it went as one of the most memorable thus far...
Most of iftor I had in our hospital surau, which was really great & happening. Seemed like a mini gathering wth friends & hosp staffs everyday! The food, undeniably more than we could ever expect; heavy meals are served daily, as every depts/wards/units take turn to sponsor daily.
My on calls were pretty bad, but no complaints as i had only 3 in total & the last one was on the ninth day of puasa :) hehe, did manage to make my friends "jelos".
The nights were fairly lively as there are quite a number of masjids in sandakan, so azan calls & recitals in solat were audible in many parts of the town. But one annoying matter was, people's ignorance regarding straightening of safs...really irritating when people make saf as they like!!!
My long standing hope of going out for sahur finally happened in sandakan...twice i went out wth my sandakan-mates (hakul,razi,afiq&razman) to njoy roti naan& tandoori in Hameed curry house.
But 1 question wic must keep all of us in a worrisome state...would our ibadah be accepted by The All-Mighty? Insya Allah...that is our utmost hope & may Allah allow us to meet & indulge into many Ramadhan to come.
